The Anatolia Doner Kebab House is one of those pleasant and unique Albuquerque culinary surprises that deserves to be better known.
While walking on Central Avenue in downtown Albuquerque, it is often quite easy to miss or skip a promising eatery because the storefronts tend to be rather nondescript. Good restaurants can hide in plain sight. The Anatolia Donor Kebab House was one of those places I walked past scores of times without taking notice. Finally, a sign advertising an appealing selection of Turkish and Mediterranean specials caught my eye. I stopped in for lunch and had the chicken doner kebab (with a grilled green chili). I’ve been hooked ever since.
I don’t consider myself an expert on Turkish food but everything I’ve had at Anatolia Doner Kebab House has been very satisfying. They make a perfectly seasoned cacik sauce that is the ideal condiment for the chicken or beef kebabs. The rice and salad are well prepared and seasoned, rounding out light, flavorful and healthy lunch and dinner platters. My personal favorites are the chicken and beef kebab platters. For very modest prices, the food here is exceptional.

This is good & cheap Albuquerque dining at its finest. They have low-cost daily specials for $6.99 (check their Facebook page for the specials of the day) and wonderful dinners for under $10.00. This is real food at McDonald’s prices, and some of the best you will find for under $10.00 in Albuquerque. I consider the Anatolia worth a trip from anywhere in Albuquerque. The food is that good!
