When you see lots of locals coming back to Garcia’s Kitchen week after week with families in tow, it’s for a good reason. They love the food!
Garcia’s Kitchen is the perfect example of a local restaurant that serves honest food just the way the locals like it. The local New Mexicans know how their food should taste. And, when it’s good, they keep coming back for more. Make no mistake about it, the locals love Garcia’s!
Whenever I stop by the Garcia’s Kitchen on Central, the place is packed with locals. This is their food. in fact, you will see generations of families from grandparents to children enjoying the fare here. That tells you that this is authentic New Mexican cuisine.
Sometimes, when you read negative reviews of Albuquerque eateries online, take note of where they are from. Often, they are sampling New Mexican food for the first time, and have not yet cultivated a palette for this cuisine. Garcia’s Kitchen is unapologetically made for local tastes. If you know good New Mexican food, then you’ll know that this is the real deal!
My personal favorites are the Stuffed Sopapillas Plate, and just about anything on the breakfast menu. Dining is casual and prices are modest. There’s a Garcia’s only a couple of blocks away from Old Town. It’s a great place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have a number of locations around Albuquerque. The oldest, on Central Ave. near Old Town is the one I usually dine at. Highly recommended!
