Lindy’s Diner, across from the landmark Kimo Theatre, is a classic Route 66 diner with a Greek/New Mexican twist. The meals are tasty, the portions are generous, and the service friendly. What’s not to like? They serve a hearty breakfast, so bring a big appetite. The Greek specialties for lunch are very good. A personal favorite of mine are the Greek gyro platters. Lindy’s has outlived many of its downtown contemporaries in the old Route 66 corridor along Central Ave. It has been in this same location for more than 85 years, riding out the Route 66 boom and bust, and economic fluctuations in downtown Albuquerque. With good food, hearty portions and a location just across from the Kimo theater, let’s hope it stays for another 85!
